The Ukrainian-Latvian couple gave one game to their rivals
Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok and Elena Ostapenko from Latvia made it to the quarterfinals of the doubles of the second WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide.
In the 1/8 finals, Kichenok and Ostapenko, seeded under the third number, defeated another Ukrainian Martha Kostyuk and the representative of Georgia Oksana Kalashnikova.
Tennis players spent almost one hour on the court. Lyudmila and Elena gave only one game to their rivals, converting five out of 11 break points – 6:0, 6:1.
In the 1/4 finals, Kichenok and Ostapenko will play against the winners of the match Alicia Rosolska / Erin Rutliff – Alana Parnaby / Olivia Tzhandramulia.
Last week, Kichenok and Ostapenko reached the semifinals of the first tournament in Adelaide. The Ukrainian-Latvian duet stopped one step away from the final, losing to tennis players from the USA Eisha Muhammad and Taylor Townsend.
Recall that in mid-December, Kostyuk, together with Kalashnikova, won the doubles tournament in Limoges.
