Former ‘Moscow’ and ‘Tom’ midfielder Branislav Krunic told Metaratings.ru his attitude to the cancellation of the match between Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was supposed to take place in the fall of 2022.
– In the fall, the national teams of Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were supposed to play a friendly match, but this did not happen. How do you assess this whole situation?
— We all know that today sport, unfortunately, lives inseparably from politics. It seems to me that it was not a decision in the name of football, but for another reason. And I want the sport to remain finally reserved for athletes, and also that this unpleasant situation around the Russian teams is normalized as soon as possible.
On October 31, the Football Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced on the official website the cancellation of a friendly match with the Russian national team, which was to be held on November 19 in St. Petersburg. Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Union president Viko Željković said a friendly match with the Russians would be played “in the future”.
