Former defender of the Russian national football team Vadim Evseev think he is welsh Gareth Bale earned enough in his career to retire from football at 33.
Bale announced his retirement on Monday. The midfielder’s last team was MLS club Los Angeles.
– I think the last World Cup showed everything. The level Bale had wasn’t exactly lost, but he himself felt his time had already passed. Graduated at 33? Fine. Some have finished earlier. He played at the World Cup, won up to five Champions League cups – that’s a great result, Evseev told .
Bale started his career at Southampton and then played for Tottenham, Real Madrid and Los Angeles. With the Madrid club, the Welshman became five-time winner of the Champions League, three-time Spanish champion, four-time winner of the Club World Cup.
As a member of the national team, Bale played 111 games, scored 41 goals and reached the semi-finals of the 2016 European Championship.
