Former President of Moscow “Spartacus” Andrey Chervichenko supported the idea of obliging MIR RPL referees to give interviews after matches.
– I am an active proponent of publicity and understanding what is going on in general and what judges are doing. I have already said that all their VAR conversations should be published. It’s not the most secret things that are classified as state secrets. Everyone should understand what they are whispering. This understanding will not allow judges to cheat.
An undeniable advantage is that it will deprive the judges of the possibility of pointing fingers. The referee can bow to VAR saying he should have asked. And vice versa: the VARs can say that they thought the referee saw the situation and did not correct it. Setting up post-game interviews will deprive them of the possibility of all these manipulations.
We must clearly understand what is happening, who is speaking. We can figure out who to ask. Of course, in the heat of the action after the match, the judges can say something more for themselves. But for us, what happened will be clearer.
Most likely, the judges will mumble garbage and try to escape, and say nothing profound. The main thing is to introduce this, and then it is already possible to designate some kind of framework and categories over time, ”Chervichenko quotes the “Championship”.
