Real Madrid beat Valencia on penalties to reach Spanish Super Cup final

Courtois parried Gaia’s shot, and Jemert shot over the gate

Real won Valencia in the semi-finals Spanish Super Cup. The match was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team took the lead before the break – Karim Benzema converted a penalty. At the beginning of the second half, Valencia bounced back – Samuel Lino closed the serve of Tony Lato.

Until the end of regular time and in extra time, the teams did not reveal the winner. Real Madrid players were more accurate in the penalty shoot-out – 4:3. Eray Gemert (above the goal) and José Luis Gaia (goalkeeper) made misses in Valencia.

The second finalist of the Spanish Super Cup will be determined on January 12 in the Betis-Barcelona match. The beginning is at 21:00 Kyiv time.

The final of the Spanish Super Cup will take place on Sunday 15 January. The current trophy holder is Real Madrid.
