PSG suffered a loss of 369 million euros last season, Man City received a record profit for the club – KPMG report

Real Madrid and Bayern managed to lock in income in all seasons during the pandemic

PSG suffered a loss of 369 million euros for the 2021/22 season. The financial result of the Parisians for the year was one of the worst in the history of football, according to a report by the KPMG audit group.

In the eight financially largest European leagues, three more champions of their countries also showed a loss – Ajax, Milan and Trabzonspor. In the same time Manchester city reached a record profit of 49 million euros for the season. Porto, Real Madrid and Bavaria also managed to achieve income.

Note that Madrid, along with Munich, are the only champions who have been able to record a positive result for the second season in a row in all the years affected by the pandemic.

PSG’s biggest signings in 2021/22 include defender Ashraf Hakimi (€68m) and midfielder Danilo Pereira (€16m). In the same reporting period, the Parisians signed striker Lionel Messi, defender Sergio Ramos and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as free agents, paying the players a high salary.

PSG lead the French league, six points ahead of Lens. In the next round on January 15, the Parisians will play away against Rennes.
