“We’ve known each other too long.” Gancharenko explained his return to the Urals

Head Coach”Urals » Viktor Gancharenko told about the circumstances of his return to the Yekaterinburg club.

Previously, the specialist led the Urals in 2015, after which he moved to work at CSKA. On August 15, 2022, the Belarusian returned to the Yekaterinburg team.

– Hurry up. In life, something changes, but you keep the relationship. I have very good memories of Yekaterinburg, the club has changed, new players. It’s a completely blank page, we start all over again, we try to do something.

My last departure from the Urals did not affect my relationship with Ivanov. We almost immediately started communicating – after two or three months. There was no conflict between us.

How did I get invited this time? A funny story. I have been to many countries because of work, but all my friends advised me to go to Kamchatka. When the well-known situation started, when planes started not flying the way we all want, I decided to go for it. They flew in August. It’s wonderful there! With friends in tents lived on the Pacific coast. And here we are, and one day Grigory Viktorovich calls me: “Well, come on, come on!”.

And I’m in Kamchatka, eight hours from Moscow. I’m thinking, “Damn, what to do?” But Viktorovich, after a minute of conversation, said: “Well, now we are going to play Voronezh, and after that come.” I just had time to rest in Kamchatka for a week, although during this time Ivanov called several times, we discussed something. But he didn’t ask me where I was. And I didn’t speak. Then he flew from Kamchatka to Moscow, spent the night – and immediately flew to Yekaterinburg.

We’ve known each other too long. Half an hour was enough to agree on everything, – quotes the words of Gancharenko “Championship”.
