Now the deal must be approved by Besiktas
Manchester United close to signing Dutch striker on loan Wow Weghorst. The club has reached a verbal agreement with Burnley on the forward’s loan.
Recall that this season Weghorst plays for Besiktas on loan from Burnley. For the early termination of the agreement, Besiktas should receive 3 million euros, but the Turkish club will approve the deal only when it finds a replacement for the Dutch striker.
In January 2022, Weghorst joined Burnley from Wolfsburg for €17.5 million. In the summer, the Dutchman was rented by Besiktas. As part of the Turkish team, the striker scored nine goals in 18 matches.
At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Wout made four appearances for the Netherlands national team. The forward scored a double in the quarter-final match against Argentina (2:2, 3:4 on pen.).
Manchester United is fourth in the Premier League. In the next round of the championship of England, the Red Devils will play against Manchester City on January 14.
