The player has agreed a contract with the Pitmen
Ukrainian defender Yaroslav Rakytsky close to signing a contract with Miner.
The player will soon join the Pitmen’s location in Turkey, where the Donetsk club is holding a training camp. Yaroslav has already agreed on the terms of a personal contract with Shakhtar.
Recall that Rakitskiy spent 10 years with the Pitmen, playing more than 300 matches for the Donetsk club. In January 2019, Yaroslav moved to Zenit.
For the national team of Ukraine, the defender played 54 matches and scored four goals. After moving to the Russian championship, the coaching staff of Andrey Shevchenko stopped attracting Yaroslav to the matches of the country’s main team.
In March last year, Rakitskiy terminated his contract with Zenit and left the St. Petersburg club after the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine. After leaving Russia, Yaroslav kept fit with Metalist and Shakhtar. Also in the summer, the Ukrainian refused to move to the Brazilian Botafogo.
Rakitskiy spent the first part of the current season with Adana Demirspor, a club from the Turkish Super League. He has 9 matches and one assist in the Turkish Cup.
Following the results of the Champions League group stage, Shakhtar took third place in the quartet and advanced to the playoffs of the Europa League. In February, the Pitmen will play with Rennes in the 1/16 finals of the LE.
Igor Jovicevich’s team also ranks second in the UPL standings, 5 points behind Dnipro-1. In the first match of the second round, Shakhtar will play against Metalist 1925.
