Shovkovsky: There is an agreement that I will be able to combine work in Dynamo and the national team of Ukraine

It all depends on the head coach of the national team

Newly minted coach of Kyiv Dynamo Alexander Shovkovsky commented on his return to the capital club.

“There are certain agreements – if my services are needed, then I am ready to join the cooperation in the new coaching staff of the national team and work part-time … But this will be decided by the new head coach of the Ukrainian national football team.”

“In the meantime, I will apply my knowledge and experience to the maximum to make my beloved and famous club even stronger and better!”

Recall that the ex-keeper of the white and blue will take the position of one of the assistants to the head coach – Mircea Lucescu. Previously, Shovkovsky worked as an assistant to Andriy Shevchenko, and then to Oleksandr Petrakov in the coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team, but left his position after the expiration of his employment contract with the UAF.

Shovkovskiy has been playing for Dynamo since 1993. On account of his 426 matches for the people of Kiev in the championship of Ukraine. In the camp of the Kyiv club, the goalkeeper became the champion of Ukraine 14 times, won the Ukrainian Cup 11 times and won the Ukrainian Super Cup 6 times.

Oleksandr played 92 matches for the Ukrainian national team. It was with Shovkovsky at the gate that the blue-yellows reached the quarterfinals of the 2006 World Cup. In the national team, the keeper ended his career back in 2012.

Mircea Lucescu’s wards did not make it to the Eurospring, leaving the group stage of the Europa League. In the standings of the UPL, the Kievans occupy the third position.

The team will play its next match within the Ukrainian championship in the spring. As part of the 16th round, Dynamo will meet with Ingulets in a home match, the base day of the tour is March 4.
