‘Our esteemed Messi has it all, so the FIFA Player of the Year award will go to Mbappe’ – Kavazashvili

The International Football Federation (FIFA) recognizes the PSG and France striker as the best player of 2022 Kyliana Mbappe because the Argentine world champion Lionel Messi the collection is priceless, the former USSR national team goalkeeper told Anzor Kavazashvili .

On Thursday, FIFA released a list of contenders for the title of best player of the past year. The list includes Messi, Mbappe, Neymar, Ashraf Hakimi (all – PSG), Vinicius, Luka Modric, Karim Benzema (all – Real Madrid), Erling Haaland, Kevin de Bruyne, Julian Alvarez (all – Manchester City), Mohamed Salah ( Liverpool), Sadio Mane (Bayern), Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) and Jude Bellingham (Borussia).

– Only two people deserve an award – Messi and Mbappe. The rest was added for composition, so that there was someone to choose from, so as not to offend anyone. Our esteemed Messi has all the awards, so the award will go to Mbappe,” Kavazashvili told .

The nominees for the title of Manager of the Year 2022 are Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid), Didier Deschamps (France), Josep Guardiola (Manchester City), Walid Regragui (Vidad/Morocco), Lionel Scaloni (Argentina).

– I would give the best coach to Deschamps. It constantly proves its modernity, its literacy. The Frenchman completely missed the first half of the World Cup final, everyone thought he would end the game like this, but he had the brains to eliminate experienced players, make a substitution and overthrow the situation. They could have easily won the final without the penalty shootout. It speaks of the coach’s intuition, knowledge and professionalism,” noted Kavazashvili.

Voting will begin on January 12. The winner will be announced at the official FIFA ceremony on February 27.
