Al Nasr officially refuted information that the Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo will be promote Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2030 World Cup.
“Contrary to the news, Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nasr does not provide for any commitment to any World Cup bids.”
“His main focus is on Al Nasr and working with teammates to help the club succeed,” the club tweeted.
Earlier there was information that Ronaldo will become the ambassador of Saudi Arabia during the bidding campaign for the 2030 World Cup.
The agreement between Ronaldo and Al-Nasr is finalized until the summer of 2025. Cristiano will earn at least 75 million euros a year. In addition to the basic salary, the income of the Portuguese can double through the sale of image rights.
After 12 matches played, Al-Nasr is in first place in the standings of the Saudi Arabian championship. In the next match, the club from Riyadh will play with Al Shabab on January 14.
