Potter: Mudrik is a player with a big future, fans will love him

Ukrainian signed a contract for eight and a half years

Chelsea head coach Graham Pottep commented on the transfer of the Ukrainian winger Mikhail Mudrik.

“He is a young player with a big, exciting future. One on one, direct, attacks the back line. He can go wide, but also influence the goal. A really interesting player, I think our fans will like him. I just look forward to working with him. If I’m here until the end of his contract, we’ll all be happy!”

It was previously reported that Potter spoke to Mudrik on the phone to go over the details of the London club project. The manager’s call was the first concrete step to convince the player to move to Chelsea, knowing that Mikhail’s priority was a transfer to Arsenal.

Mudrik signed a contract with Chelsea for eight and a half years. The Ukrainian will perform in Chelsea under the 15th number. The winger with the Ukrainian flag on his shoulders entered the field at Stamford Bridge during the break of the match of the 20th round of the Premier League with Crystal Palace (1:0).

Chelsea and Shakhtar agreed to move Mudrik for 100 million euros. Chelsea are guaranteed to pay 70 million euros, and Shakhtar can receive another 30 million in the form of bonuses.

Chelsea have narrowly beaten Crystal Palace (1-0) and are in tenth place in the Premier League. The Blues will next play Liverpool away on 21 January.
