According to the President of Agribusiness, the arbitrator himself provoked the fight
Honorary President of Agribusiness Oleg Sobutsky spoke about the conflict with the referee Yuri Ivanov. The functionary was accused of beating the referee after the match with Minay in 2020 and was disqualified for five years.
“Many people say that it would be better to beat him. But God is his judge. If Ivanov had not provoked Roman Mokha [знакомый Собуцкого], then no one would hurt him. There was this match with Minai and we knew in advance that it would be paid for by Minai. There was some information – how much and for what. Moreover, Ivanov was promised a promotion, and then it happened. I had no right to do so, but I entered the arbitrators’ room. I just didn’t want people who were outside the stadium to beat up the referee. I promised them that I would come and talk. There were emotions, there were screams … “
“There is a lot of evidence of my innocence, and this evidence will soon come up. There is a time for everything, and I think that it will come soon. And then we will listen to how Ivanov agreed and for how much. I wanted to give it to Lausanne, but they said that CAS would not take any steps. There was only a matter of whether he hit or not hit, a match-fixing was not considered.
“When the case in CAS began, I asked the court to speak and tell the situation, but the representatives of the UAF filed a protest and I was not allowed to speak. I answered the questions of the court and they told me that I could leave. Then my lawyers write that the referee was asked from the UAF to come up with additional evidence and you know what kind of evidence it is: it seems that I gave the command to my guys to take the flags that the assistants use and to [судей] still raped. And this is what they came up with. And I think this is what influenced the decision of CAS and the suspension for five years. Previously, they did not make these screenings, and now they made a statement. I understand that they completely lost the case and they had the only way out to say this. It is unacceptable”.
Roman Mokha confirmed the words of Oleg Sobutsky, stating that it was he who hit Ivanov.
“When I entered the room, I told him [Иванову], why do you judge us like that, we defended your city in the Donbass, and here you are so… He replied: “Why did you come there, I didn’t call you there.” And since I was a veteran of the ATO, it stuck with me a little and had to be punched in the nose.”
Recall that the honorary president of Agribusiness Oleg Sobutsky was disqualified for life. He was suspended from football activities for beating referee Yuri Ivanov after the First League match between Agribusiness and Minay in July 2020. Subsequently, the Lausanne Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced the period of ineligibility to five years.
The assault on the part of Sobutsky was recorded in the referee’s report. The functionary himself claimed that he was holding people back from beating the arbitrators. In turn, the referee Yuriy Ivanov, after the game Agribusiness – Minay, went to Kyiv, where he filmed the beatings in the police.
Oleg Sobutsky joined the army after a full-scale Russian invasion. The functionary defends Ukraine along with other employees and players of the club in Bakhmut.
