The club expects to receive the full text of the motivational part of the decision and will apply to the Sports Guarantee Board
Juventus announced filing an appeal on the decision to remove points from the team and ban the activities of functionaries.
The club expects to receive the motivational part of the verdict of the court of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). After that, the residents of Turin will appeal to the Sports Guarantee Council with a protest.
Recall, FIGC granted the petition of the prosecutor, who demanded punishment for the club for violating financial fair play. 15 points have been deducted from Juventus. The prosecutor’s office demanded a 9-point penalty and a shorter suspension, but the court decided that such a measure would not be sufficient.
Former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has been banned from football for two years, and Pavel Nedved has been suspended for eight months. Other former leaders of the Turin club were also punished.
The Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body is examining the contracts of several football players, suspecting financial fraud in them. In case of confirmation of violations of the law, the club faces fines from UEFA, including for the guilty players.
Recall that the Chamber of Financial Control concluded a settlement agreement with Juventus in August. The deal was completed based on financial information for 2018-2022 provided by the club. Later, however, the Italian Commission for Companies and Exchanges, together with the Turin prosecutor’s office, released data on alleged financial violations by Juventus.
Juventus have dropped to 10th in Serie A with Massimiliano Allegri’s team now on 22 points. In the next round, Juventus will host Atalanta on January 22.
