The reasons that left Lucas Assadi on the bench in the Red Sub 20 premiere

The University of Chile striker started the duel against Ecuador from the bench. He came on at minute 58 to replace Gabriel Norambuena.

The Chilean team under 20 began yesterday its participation in the South American championship of the category which is played in Colombia. He did it with a 1-1 draw against the Ecuadorian team and he was able to win a bigger prize, since the referees did not validate a goal which would have meant the opening of the account.

In this duel, he also drew attention to the fact that Chilean university midfielder Luas Assadi, who had performed well with the lay side, remained on the substitutes’ bench. Of course, he still added minutes after entering at 58′ to replace Gabriel Norambuena.

After the duel, coach Patricio Ormazábal explained his reasons for considering removing him from the starting XI.

Jeison Fuentealba is a mixed player, just like Maturana. We went with three forwards. We were a team with a lot of order, with a lot of intensity . We had played with Ecuador and we knew that if we were not up to it in the intensity part, they would pass us above”, he commented in a dialogue with ADN radio.

Regarding the blue player, he commented that “In the first half, we had four or five clear chances. We were always in a hurry, the team was very short, that’s why we took the decision . Generally, the team played in 4-3-3 and also in 4-3-2-1 and then we will see what is best against Uruguay,” he explained.

In any case, the technician’s analysis was positive. “I remain with a sense of tranquility because we are in competition. It was what we had talked about with the players, that you had to give everything in each match to fight . In this sense, I remain calm. If we analyze the games we had, we could make the difference in the first half, but that’s football. In the first arrival, they equalized and in the second half everything was balanced. It is so”.

Regarding the goal that was not conceded in favor of La Roja, he indicated that “They told me there was a ball that I think was a goal and it seems so . They told me after the game. I remain calm with the performance of the players, it gives air and makes us understand that it is possible”.

Now the Chilean U20 team must prepare for their next challenge in South America. This Sunday, they are measured against Uruguay (8:30 p.m. in Chile) in what will be La Celeste’s debut in the league, since the first day they were free.
