The guests equalized the score three times, but eventually lost
Borussia D in a crazy firefight snatched victory from Augsburg in the 16th round Bundesliga – 4:3.
The beginning of the scoring extravaganza was laid in the middle of the first half. Jude Bellingham opened the scoring, but the guests quickly equalized it with the efforts of Arne Mayer. Even before the break, Borussia took the lead again thanks to a goal from Niko Schlotterbeck, but Ermedin Demirovich also managed to score a second goal in the dressing room.
The goal exchange continued at the end of the second half. Jamie Byno-Gittens put Dortmund ahead for the third time, and again Augsburg equalized, two minutes later David Cholina scored. But a minute later, the fourth goal against the guests had Giovanni Reina. The ball of the American became decisive in the meeting.
Borussia D scored 28 points and is in sixth place. Augsburg remains in 15th place with 15 points.
In the next round, Dortmund will play away with Mainz on January 25. Augsburg on the same day will host Borussia M.
