Serb will join the team of Ruslan Malinovsky in the summer
Marseilles close to signing Verona midfielder Ivan Ilic. It is expected that the deal will be finalized in January, but the midfielder will join Olimpik in June.
The 21-year-old Serbian international will sign a contract until 2028. Marseille will pay 15 million euros plus up to 3 million euros Verona will be able to receive in the form of additional bonuses.
Ilic spent several years in the youth structure of Manchester City, after which he moved to Verona in the summer of 2021. The central midfielder has made 12 appearances for the club in all competitions this season, scoring an assist.
Recall that in early January, Marseille signed Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky. The midfielder managed to play three fights for the French team in all tournaments.
Marseille are third in Ligue 1, five points behind leaders PSG. In the next match, Malinovsky’s team will meet with Monaco on January 28.
