He replaced Louis van Gaal
Ronald Koeman officially headed national team of the Netherlands. The parties signed a contract until 2026.
Koeman replaced Louis van Gaal as head coach of the Netherlands, who left the national team immediately after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Oranges lost to Argentina on penalties in the quarter-finals.
Koeman has already led the Netherlands national team in the period 2018-2020. In the summer of 2020, the coach signed a contract with Barcelona, which he left a year later. Since then, the mentor has been unemployed.
In the Euro 2024 qualifier, the Netherlands will play in Group B with France, Greece, Ireland and Gibraltar. Qualification will start in March 2023.
