Ilya defeated the Frenchman Benoit Per in straight sets
Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko made it to the second round of the tournament ATP Challenger Tour 125, which takes place in the French Quimper.
At the start of the event, the Ukrainian defeated the representative of France, 33-year-old Benoit Per, in straight sets. The meeting lasted one hour and 10 minutes.
In the first game, the Ukrainian scored two breaks, without giving up any of his pitches to his opponent. In the second set, the seventh game on the serve of Per, who was taken by Marchenko, became decisive.
In the next round of the tournament, Ilya will face Swiss Dominik Stricker.
Marchenko made it to the main draw of the tournament in Kemper, overcoming two rounds of qualification. Ilya defeated Benjamin Lock and Ivan Gakhov.
