RFU President Dyukov hasn’t ruled out Luzhniki hosting the Russian Cup final next season

President of the Russian Football Union Alexander Diukov shared his impressions of the BETCITY Russian Cup final between “Spartacus ” and “Dynamo “.

The match took place on May 29 at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow and ended 2-1 in favor of the Red-Whites.

– Emotions overwhelm everyone, it’s a real football holiday. Good weather, overcrowded Luzhniki, a crazy game. The match held the public spellbound until the last minutes, we love this kind of football. Fiction. We are sure that the next season will be even more interesting. Of course, the Cup final can come back to Luzhniki. But we have a lot of stadiums, we have to load them. Maybe we will have the next final here. Moscow knows how to host such matches, like other Russian cities,” the RFU communications service quoted Dyukov as saying.

The match set a tournament attendance record – 69,306 spectators watched the game.

For “Spartak” it was the fourth cup won in the history of Russia. Previously, the club had won the tournament in the 1993/94, 1997/98 and 2002/03 seasons.
