Betfair ambassador, Rivaldo reflected on Tite’s command of the Brazilian national team and highlighted his thoughts on Luis Enrique as a possible successor in the position
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is looking for a technician to replace Tite in charge of Brazilian Team. With the end of Qatar World Cupin an interview with Betfair, Rivaldo analyzes Tite’s work in these six years and comments on the future coach of Brazil, who is quoted, one of his colleagues from barcelona in 1999, the former coach of the Spanish national team and Barça, Luis Enrique.
“Tite’s six-year period in charge of the Brazilian national team has come to an end. In my opinion, I consider Tite a great coach, one of the best of this generation of coaches.”admitted Rivaldo. “Tite had a good average of victories in the Qualifiers and Copa Americabut that was not enough to satisfy the Brazilian fan”.
The former athlete added: “Much has been rumored that the CBF is looking to hire the Spaniard Luis Enrique, with whom I had a good relationship at Barcelona. As a player, he was an example of dedication and drive both on and off the field, and this type of personality can be important in getting the most out of every Brazilian player.”
Still on the Spanish commander, Rivaldo highlighted: “As a coach, I haven’t followed his career closely, but whoever wins what he won at Barcelona makes it clear that he has the quality to lead the national team”. The former Blaugrana player also commented on the success of the coaches who worked for the Catalan team, in the case of Mikel Arteta, Luis Enrique and Pep Guardiolawho were with Rivaldo and are now top coaches in Europe.
I played for several years with Guardiola in Spain and you could imagine that he would be a great coach after his playing career ended. With Arteta, I didn’t share many moments, because he was still a young man who was arriving in the first team at that moment, but I judge his work in the Arsenal as very positive for what it has done this year in Premier League”.
Speaking of Arsenal, the Betfair star also praised the Brazilian’s work Edu Gaspar as the signings man for the English club. “Edu Gaspar’s work in hiring a few players who didn’t do well in their former teams has much to praise and seems very positive to me. Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus of man cityor the quarterbacks Gabriel Magalhães and Saliba who came from France are examples of the good choices made by the experienced former Brazilian player”he pointed out.
