Former Turin striker Juventus Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to testify before the Turin public prosecutor’s office in an investigation against a football club over player salaries, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
According to the media, the Portuguese was on the list of players for Old Lady, who in March 2020 refused a salary for four months due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, law enforcement found agreements between the players and the club which suggest the players received money for three months without registering or informing the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).
Ronaldo and his lawyers are expected to meet with prosecutors in Italy, Madrid or Lisbon.
According to a document leaked to the press, Juventus still have to pay the striker almost 20 million euros.
Ronaldo played for Juventus from 2018 to 2021 before signing with Manchester United. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner left the English club last November before joining Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nasr in December.
Next match of the Italian championship, Juventus will play at home on Sunday against Monza. The match will be broadcast live on Match! Football 1″, the broadcast begins at 4:55 p.m. Moscow time.
