Trainer “The Seagulls” Timofey Kalachev told RB Sport he considers Rostov’s head coach Valeria Karpina one of the greatest specialists in Russia.
– I worked with him as a player. I always felt comfortable and interested in him. I understand what he expects from players. And why it works. I think he can be considered one of the strongest coaches in Russia. Still, it’s not just that he works with the national team.
If they stay in the top three, it will be a big success. But if they get into the top 6, that’s also a good achievement,” Kalachev said.
Karpin took over the management of Rostov in December 2017. There was a break in his work with the Yellow-Blues (from July 2021 to March 2022). Currently, the specialist combines the positions of head coach in Rostov and the Russian national team.
The Winline Winter Cup RPL will be held in the United Arab Emirates from February 2 to 11. Four teams will play in the tournament – Spartak, Sochi, Rostov and Krasnodar. All tournament matches will be broadcast live on and Match PREMIER TV channels, commentators are Konstantin Genich and Dmitry Shnyakin.
