The goalkeeper moved from Zorya to Alexandria in winter
Goalkeeper Nikita Shevchenko commented on his transition to Alexandria.
“Ruslan Petrovich Rotan contacted me and offered me cooperation, which I accepted. We knew him because we met in the national team of Ukraine. I was very well received in the team, in Alexandria there is a good and friendly atmosphere. It feels like I’ve been playing for Alexandria for ten years. There are no problems with adaptation.
“I really like the vision that Rotan wants to bind us. We just need time and we have it, because there is still a month before the start of the championship. We listen to Ruslan Petrovich and prepare for the resumption of the championship.”
“Why did you decide to leave Zorya? I don’t want to talk about it, to be honest. Because there were some nuances. Maybe I’ll tell you later after the end of my career. I have respect for the club that gave me the football ticket. And the rest of the details, perhaps, over time I will tell. Now I’m an Alexandria player and everything that happened in Vegas stays in Vegas. There were other options besides Alexandria, but there were no specifics. Proposals were from the UPL and Europe, but without concrete action. And with Alexandria, everything was resolved very quickly.
Recall that Nikita Shevchenko signed a contract with Alexandria until the end of May 2024.
Together with Zorya Shevchenko, he became the bronze medalist of the Ukrainian Championship at the end of the 2019/20 season. The contract of the Lugansk club with the player was calculated until the summer of 2023. This season, Shevchenko did not get into Zorya’s application for the 2022/23 season in the UPL, and therefore did not play a single match for the Luhansk team.
Oleksandriya left for the winter break being fifth in the UPL standings. The club changed the coach, appointing the current coach of the Ukrainian youth team Ruslan Rotan instead of Yuriy Gura.
