Athletistic / Football. Former CSKA defender Herdur Magnusson has shared his opinion on Vasily Berezutsky’s work as the team’s head coach. The Icelander reckons Berezutsky needed to gain experience first.

“I felt that Berezutsky took charge of CSKA too soon. We needed a more experienced coach because the team had bad results, they needed someone who could change that. I know that ‘Alexey is a club legend, but that doesn’t mean changing the fact that needed more experience.

He had his own ideas, but unfortunately they didn’t work out. I wasn’t one of his guys and I didn’t play a lot, I didn’t have a lot of playing time. To be honest, that was one of the things I didn’t understand.

Petrzhela: ‘Dzyuba will weaken CSKA – he is too slow for top club RPL’

Did he give me any advice – as an experienced defender to defender? Some valuable advice is hard to remember,” Magnusson said as quoted by ‘Championship’.
