The book about the outstanding Ukrainian coach Valery Lobanovsky is now available in Arabic. The first edition, dedicated to the legend of the Ukrainian coaching workshop, was presented during a gala evening on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Kuwait.
The publication was published thanks to the cooperation of Dynamo and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the State of Kuwait Oleksandr Balanutsy. Recall that Valery Lobanovsky in 1994-1996 headed the national team of Kuwait.
According to the Dynamo official website, Oleksandr Balanutsa, who is a big football fan and admirer of the white-and-blues, addressed Dynamo President Igor Surkis with a corresponding proposal. On behalf of the Kyiv club, this project was supervised and helped in putting the book in order by Dynamo vice-president Alexei Semenenko. He and former FIFA referee Miroslav Stupar presented the club during the celebrations.
“We did not even expect that the event would bring together such a number of honored guests, including ambassadors from more than 15 countries. I focused not on football, but, first of all, expressed gratitude to all countries that help Ukraine in this difficult period, and asked respected ambassadors for even greater support for our final victory,” Semenenko said.
“Since the peoples of our countries experienced identical historical scenarios of the struggle for independence from the invaders, now Kuwait supports Ukraine on various international platforms. The task of diplomacy in this context is to maximally assist the process of rapprochement between the two countries and their peoples. Sport is one of such connecting elements, and the development of points of contact between Ukraine and Kuwait in the face of the legacy of Valery Lobanovsky is an important component of diplomatic work,” summed up the results of the celebrations at the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Kuwait.
