Guinean midfielder Amadou Dumbua became a player of the “Kuban”, according to the press service of the Krasnodar team, playing in the MELBET-First League.
The footballer arrived at the team venue overnight and took part in a training session on Tuesday morning.
The 20-year-old Dumbua’s last club was Sweden’s Djurgården, who terminated his contract on January 12 in legal proceedings. In October last year, the footballer was charged with rape, offensive videotaping and minor drug offences. At the end of November, charges relating to the first two counts were dropped due to insufficient evidence. The use of tramadol, a narcotic substance, explains Dumbua by the fact that, on the advice of a friend, he took medication for sleep disorders. He was found guilty, but only punished with a fine.
The prosecutor demanded that the player be sentenced to three years in prison and expelled from Sweden. She said she would appeal the verdict.
Kuban is 15th in the standings with 19 points after 20 rounds.
The football season in Russia will resume with the matches of the FONBET Russian Cup, which will begin on February 22. The Premier League season will continue in early March with the 21st round matches, in which Kuban will host Rubin Kazan. Broadcasts of matches of the Premier League and the Russian Cup can be viewed on the federal channel , as well as on the thematic channels of the holding company and on the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
