Surkis: Part of the funds received by Dynamo for the transfer of Zabarny will be used to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Also, the Kyiv club will hold a charity match with Bournemouth

The president Dynamo Igor Surkis commented on the transition of the defender Ilya Zabarny in Bournemouth. He noted that part of the proceeds from the transfer of the Ukrainian will be sent to help APU.

“This transfer once again confirms that Ukraine is rich in football talent. Ilya is a graduate of the Dynamo Football Academy, he worked hard, showed himself well in the first team, became a player in the national team. His talent is developing, now we have given him the opportunity to try himself in one of the strongest championships – the English Premier League. For Ilya, this is both an opportunity for development and success. I’m very happy for him, I’m proud of my footballer,” said Surkis.

“I want to thank Mircea Lucescu, all the coaches of the club, the mentors of our Academy, who are involved in the education of Ilya Zabarny. I declare that Dynamo will continue its course towards the development of young Ukrainians. This strategy is a contribution to the development of Ukrainian football, the ability to regularly provide Dynamo players for national teams of different ages.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Armed Forces, which perform real feats every day. It was the Armed Forces of Ukraine that allowed our country to survive, and our football to exist and gradually recover. We are indebted to the Ukrainian military and, of course, part of the funds received by Dynamo will be used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, we plan to hold a charity match against Bournemouth, which will raise additional funds for the club’s humanitarian initiatives. Glory to Ukraine!”.

It was reported that the total amount of Zabarny’s transfer to Bournemouth could reach 25 million euros. The defender himself signed a contract with the English club until 2028.

Zabarny is a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv. The center back has been playing for the first team of the white and blue since 2020. This season, he has 25 matches for Dynamo in all competitions. The defender also played 24 matches in the national team of the country.

In the UPL standings, Dynamo is in the third position. Mircea Lucescu’s team will not play in European competitions this spring.
