Ukrainian signed a contract until 2028
Chief Executive of Bournemouth Neil Blake commented on the transition to the English club Dynamo Kyiv defender Ilya Zabarny.
“Although only 20 years old, Zabarny already has experience of playing at the highest level for both club and country and has established himself as one of the most sought-after young defenders in the world.”
“We very much look forward to him continuing his development with us and we know that he will be a valuable and important member of our team.”
Zabarny signed a contract with the Cherries until 2028. It is expected that the total amount of the transfer could reach around 25 million euros. Under the terms of the contract, Dynamo will play a charity friendly match with Bournemouth.
Zabarny is a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv. The center back has been playing for the first team of the white and blue since 2020. This season, he has 25 matches for Dynamo in all competitions. The defender also played 24 matches in the national team of the country.
In the UPL standings, Dynamo is in the third position. Mircea Lucescu’s team will not play in European competitions this spring.
Bournemouth are 18th in the Premier League under manager Gary O’Neill. The Cherries will next play away to Brighton on 4 February.
