American prefers Tyson Fury in the fight for the title of absolute champion
American heavyweight boxer Chris Arreola favors WBC title holder Tyson Fury in the fight for the title of absolute world champion with the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk.
“It will be a very fun fight. You can’t learn size. I have to give preference to Fury simply because he is such a big and such a skilled fighter. Even though Tyson is so big, he fights like a middleweight, so I pick Fury.”
“But you can’t take anything away from Usyk. He is one of the greatest amateur fighters of all time, having over 300 amateur fights and winning gold medals and more.”
The battle between Usyk and Fury is tentatively scheduled for April 29. The fight is going to be held in Saudi Arabia, London remains a fallback option.
Promoter Bob Arum said that Usyk wants an equal distribution of income between the boxers in the unification fight with Fury. Arum also clarified that the organizers are waiting for proposals from representatives from the Middle East who wish to host the fight.
