In the club, hope that an independent commission will figure it out
Manchester city published Official statement with a reaction to accusations by the Premier League of violating financial fair play rules.
“Manchester City are surprised by the allegations of possible violations of the rules of the Premier League, especially given the large amount of detailed material that we have provided. The Club welcomes the consideration of this issue by an independent commission in order to impartially consider the array of irrefutable evidence in support of our position. We look forward to having this matter closed once and for all.”
Earlier, the Premier League accused Manchester city of numerous violations of the rules of financial fair play. Violations in financial performance, income and wages were in every season from 2009/10 to 2017/18. After years of investigation, the APL referred the case to an independent commission.
The Premier League has yet to announce sanctions. It is possible that if all the accusations are proven, then Man City can be deducted points in the championship.
