On Tuesday, information appeared that the Shevchenkovsky Court of Kyiv blocked the accounts of the Poltava GOK and businessman Konstantin Zhevago. GOK is part of the Ferrexpo group of companies, which is the sponsor of Gornyak-Sport.
Despite reports of account blocking, the club continues to take part in the Pozhechevsky Cup and look for potential newcomers. Also, the PFL did not receive any documents about the removal of the team.
In December, Zhevago was detained in the ski resort of Courchevel in the French Alps. He is suspected of embezzling the property of the Finance and Credit Bank, in which Zhevago was listed as a beneficiary, in the amount of 2.5 billion hryvnias. In December 2015, a decision was made to revoke the banking license and liquidate Finance and Credit.
The former People’s Deputy of Ukraine was sent under extradition arrest. Recently, Zhevago left the post of director and left the board of directors of Ferrexpo. Recall that the group of companies, in addition to Gornyak-Sport, is also a sponsor of Vorskla.
Gornyak-Sport finished the first part of the season in eighth place in Group B of the First League, scoring eight points in 14 games. In the spring, Sergey Diryavka’s team will play in the elimination group for the right to remain in the division.
