Acting head coach of Metalist 1925 Edmure commented strengthening of the team this winter.
“The search for new players does not stop, but you know perfectly well what the situation is in the country and that it is not quite difficult to lure players of a serious level to the Premier League. If we talk about strong players who play in the Ukrainian championship, then it is not easy to win the fight for them against better-off clubs. I can’t say that we won’t sign new players for sure this winter. They are not there yet, but they may appear.
“Is there a chance to extend the loan of Andriy Boryachuk from Shakhtar? Personally, I would not be against such a development of events, but this question is better to ask the leadership of both clubs. Boryachuk helped us a lot in this championship. Such a player would not interfere with us. In addition, he will not have to get used to the team in which everyone knows him well.
Shakhtar’s forward Andriy Boryachuk played on loan for Metalist 1925 in the first round of this season. He scored 3 goals in 8 matches for the Kharkiv team. Boryachuk is currently at the training camp with Shakhtar in Turkey.
Metalist 1925 lost to Kazakh Ordabasy in a test match at a training camp in Turkey (1:2). Earlier in Turkey, the team of Edmar and Oleg Golodyuk played a draw with the Serbian club Radnicki (0:0), defeated the Bulgarian Hebyr (2:1) and the Macedonian Gostivar (1:0), lost to the Danish Norschelland (0:1).
Metalist 1925 is 7th in the UPL standings with 18 points. Kharkiv club next match in the championship will play against Shakhtar. The base date is March 4th.
