Historic victory of the Lviv team
In the match of 1/16 finals of the UEFA Youth League Roc U-19 passed in the penalty shootout Inter U-19. The match took place in the Polish city of Staleva Wola.
The Lviv team opened the scoring in the match – Sergey Panchenko scored in the middle of the first half. Inter scored the return goal after the break – Francesco Pio Esposito scored an accurate blow.
The teams were unable to determine the winner in regular time, and Rukh was more accurate in the penalty shootout. Vitaliy Roman’s accurate shot brought victory to the Ukrainian team.
Recall that the Lviv residents made it to the 1/16 finals of the UEFA Youth League along the Champions Path. In the first round of the tournament Rukh passed the Polish Zaglembe, in the second – the Turkish Galatasaray.
Also today, another Ukrainian club will play at this stage of the tournament – Shakhtar U-19 will play away against Hajduk from Split. The match starts at 19:00 Kyiv time.
The winners of the play-offs in the 1/8 finals will play with the group winners of the Champions League Path. The play-off draw will take place on February 13 in Nyon, and the matches of this stage of the tournament are scheduled for February 28 and March 1.
