House demolition continues for third day in Turkey
Hatayspor issued a statement in which he denied the rescue of a football player Christian Atsu from under the rubble of one of the houses destroyed by the earthquake in Turkey.
“We talked about Christian being rescued. But according to the latest information, Atsu and sports director Taner Savut are under the rubble. We hope that good news will arrive very soon,” said Hatayspor Vice President Mustafa Ozat.
It was reported that 31-year-old Atsu, who is known for playing for Chelsea, Everton, Newcastle and the Ghana national team, was found alive. At the same time, as a result of the earthquake, the goalkeeper of the Turkish First Division club Yeni Malatyaspor Ahmet Eyüp Türkaslan died.
On February 6, a powerful earthquake occurred in Turkey and Syria. The total number of victims of the earthquake exceeded 9 thousand people. The Turkish football championship has been suspended due to the earthquake. The first round of the Winter Cup-2023 was also postponed due to the earthquake.
