The midfielder regrets that he did not set the goal of moving to a European club
Captain of Kyiv Dynamo Sergei Sidorchuk in an interview Sport Arena spoke about the desire to try their hand abroad. The midfielder also commented on the possible return of winger Andriy Yarmolenko to the Dynamo camp.
An offer from Al Ain? We talked, but it didn’t come down to specifics. Play with Yarmolenko under the leadership of Rebrov? So, maybe there is more to come. We had good communication with Rebrov, and if I call now, we will also communicate well.”
“Yarmolenko? I think he will end his career at Dynamo. And that’s how I would like it.”
“It was never my goal to play in Europe. This was my biggest mistake. If you set a goal for yourself and go to it, then willy-nilly, you will come to it. And for me the goal was to play for Dynamo and I didn’t even look further. Perhaps not a mistake, but I would like a foreign experience.
Yarmolenko played for Dynamo from 2007 to 2017. As part of the Kyivans, Andriy became a three-time champion of Ukraine and won the country’s Cup twice. There is a possibility of the midfielder returning to Dynamo this summer.
This season, Sidorchuk has played 25 matches for the people of Kiev in all tournaments. The midfielder has one assist.
Mircea Lucescu’s wards did not make it to the Eurospring, leaving the group stage of the Europa League. In the standings of the UPL, the Kievans occupy the third position.
The team will play its next match within the Ukrainian championship in the spring. As part of the 16th round, Dynamo will meet with Ingulets in a home match, the base day of the tour is March 4.
