On February 8, 34-year-old Dzyuba signed a contract with the railway workers until the end of the 2022/23 season. The footballer’s last club was Turkish Adana Demirspor, which he left in November 2022.
– Dzyuba, of course, will strengthen Lokomotiv – this is generally a good option for everyone, including Artyom himself, – says Naumov. – Although I did not expect Dziuba to surpass himself, by his commercialism in the name of football. – I am generally inspired by what is now starting to happen at Lokomotiv. Finally, they get rid of all this ballast, there, of course, we still have to look at Leonchenko, because whoever decides nothing, does the club need him? And so those people who are now returning to Lokomotiv can do a lot. And I’m happy with the arrival of Dziuba, and I think Loko will definitely fulfill his task – at least he won’t fly away for sure, and there is a chance to get into the top ten. If they finish in the middle of the table, it will be very good this season. In addition, there are chances to compete for the cup. And next year it will be possible to build a team.
Lokomotiv is 14th in the WORLD RPL standings with 13 points.
