Championship suspended due to devastating earthquake in Turkey
Hatayspor starred from further draw Turkish Super League. The participation of another club in the championship remains in question – Gaziantep.
Both clubs were hit by a powerful earthquake that hit Turkey on 6 February. More than 10 thousand people became its victims. Several football players and employees of Hatayspor were under the rubble after the earthquake.
At the same time, Hatayspor player Christian Atsu and club director Taner Savut remain under the rubble. The information that the former Chelsea and Newcastle footballer was rescued turned out to be unreliable.
The Turkish league will make a formal decision on Hatayspor and Gaziantep next week. Recall that because of the earthquake, the championship of Turkey suspended.
Hatayspor is 14th in the Turkish Championship and Gaziantep is 10th.
