A transition that suits everyone
The winter of the 2022/23 season is the hottest in the history of Russian football. There are so many powerful transfers that we do not have time to rethink them. And in vain – behind every significant transition lies an important and influential fact.
What does the transition of the goalkeeper of the national team of Ukraine Dmytro Riznyk to Shakhtar mean and why is it so important for Vorskla and the entire Ukrainian football championship? Reflects Sports Arena.
First, the miner got a lot of money
If earlier the Pitmen avoided large transfers (and spending in general), now they have opened their checkbook. The main reason is clear – 70 million euros for Mudrik are starting to work. But she is not the only one – the sale of Mudryk and Kryvtsov, as well as a free and involuntary farewell to almost all legionnaires, after all, the miner unloaded his payroll in order.
Now the Pitmen can afford not only to return Yaroslav Rakitskiy, but also to sign Dmitry Riznyk. Romano announced the price tag of 3 million euros + bonuses. Considering that the 24-year-old Riznyk last re-signed with Vorskla relatively recently and his agreement is still in effect for about 1.5 years, the amount of compensation is quite justified.
Second, the rumors about Trubin receive indirect confirmation.
The fact that Shakhtar is trading Riznyk was first mentioned last year. Nikolai Medin even stated that due to the fact that Vorskla did not accept the miners’ sensible offer, Dmitry’s game had a certain (psychological, probably) decline. And in parallel, information appeared in the media that Anatoly Trubin was in no hurry to prolong his contract with Shakhtar. Which, by the way, lasts exactly as long as Riznyk’s contract with Vorskla — until the end of June 2024. There is symbolism in these one and a half years. And there is a pattern that Trubin, along with Matvienko, who remains the most expensive player in the UPL, wants to repeat the path of Mudrik, Zabarny, and maybe even Tsygankov (if you know what we mean).

As a result, inviting such a strong competitor as Riznyk is not only to spur internal competition in the ranks of your goalkeepers, but also to prepare ahead of time a change for your main goalkeeper. And that Riznyk is still damp (and “ate” three goals from the same Shakhtar in the first round match), Trubin also had and still has his mistakes. Both goalkeepers are young, promising and really talented.
Only the return from Real Lunin would have made more noise – but it seems that Andrei is looking purely at continental options, and he is damn right in his desire for European integration.
Third – Vorskla is very handy this transfer
The selection work of the Poltava team is the most disastrous in the UPL this season. We collected expensive legionnaires – some did not play completely categorically, others began to play, but began to complain about debts, but we have nothing to say about the third – the guys came out to replace a couple of times, and they got lost somewhere in the depths of Viktor Skrypnyk’s reserve.
In the old days, perhaps, we would not have paid attention to this – after all, how Yuri Maximov kept Derin Eseola or Vlad Vakula in reserve, and Kushnirenko and Bondarenko too. But now Vorskla no longer has the right to make personnel mistakes. The media relish the details of the arrest of Zhevago and his accounts, the GOK in Gorishni Plavny is in a fever, huge problems cannot but affect the extradition part – the football club. In these times, you believe insiders who claim that the club wants to unload the transfer list and cut the budget by almost half.

And if so, selling Riznyk for real money is, if you like, a guarantee that Vorskla will finish the season and have prospects. No matter how painful it is, the sale of Riznyk will have to come to terms. One thing is depressing: the long-term reservist Tkachenko left just now for viewings, did not wait in the wings. The once promising Kanevtsev or Fesyun are long gone, Pasha Isenko remains. You may hardly remember that this youngster once won a long penalty shootout on Vorskla’s way to the Ukrainian Cup final, where Maksimov never released him. And we remember that then Yuri Vilevich said: “Pasha, there is good and bad news. The bad news is you’re still the third goalie.”
So, as before, the third Isenko will now remain almost the only one on the farm. You can’t pull from Flint, as before – Yermolov was on trial at another UPL club, Gornyak-Sport missed the moment when he could pull – Klishchuk, Sytnikov, Bashtanenko, Dankovich or Mirny have long outlasted the time of their sports prospects there, and the same Kovalenko was leased from Metalist 1925.
Enter the market? But where do you see a ready-made goaltender – a free agent? However, if three lyamas are dropped into your account, these problems will become tasks.
But what is important to understand about the very possibility that more than 3 million transfers can now take place within the UPL?
This is actually a hugely important transfer because it proves that money doesn’t just come from outbound sales, but sales are possible in the domestic arena. Even significant ones. And that there will be no transitions “through lawlessness”, poaching in the dark and theft – you can pay extra for a good player.
And that Riznyk is good, there is no doubt. In recent interviews, Dima was praised by many goalkeeping experts, and one – former coach of the youth team of Ukraine Volodymyr Tsytkin – even said that Riznyk is the only strong goalkeeper in Ukraine right now.
And most importantly, such transitions give motivation to all clubs. Prepare your talents and one day they will pay off. Work with youth, because you are more likely to benefit from it than from free agents with 25 stamps in the employment record. Work like football – and get football income.
What’s good is good.
And it is good that it is beneficial for all parties.
