In 2020 Miranchuk left Lokomotiv and moved to Atalanta, and in 2022 he was loaned out to Turin.
– During your career, have Barcelona been interested in Andrey Arshavin as a player?
– No, we didn’t talk about Arshavin. However, I can say with certainty that when I was Barcelona’s main scout, we were interested in the only Russian – Alexei Miranchuk. In 2019, we came to Moscow and watched the Lokomotiv player, talked to the medical service.
Miranchuk is an intelligent and technically gifted footballer. We wanted to see him at Barcelona, but soon we saw what kind of stars we had in the academy. Now I’m happy that Barcelona have players like Gavi and Pedri.
