The first Ukrainian victory in such competitions
Ukrainian ski jumper Evgeny Marusyak won at the stage Continental Cup in German Klingenthal. This is the first victory in the history of Ukraine.
In the final round, 22-year-old Marusyak performed a jump of 135.5 m, for which he received 130.8 points. As a result, the Ukrainian jumper won the Continental Cup stage, ahead of the closest pursuer, Remo Imhof from Switzerland, by 17.2 points.
Earlier, Marusyak updated the Ukrainian record for the distance of a ski jump. At the World Cup stage in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria, 22-year-old Marusyak jumped more than 200 meters three times. In his two best attempts, he showed 210 meters.
Recall that at the 2022 Olympics Marusyak took 47th place on a normal springboard.
