Chris Houghton named head coach of the Ghana national football team, according to to place Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The duration of the contract with the 64-year-old Irish specialist is not specified. As stated, the choice of Hughton “is in line with the GFA’s vision to continue the project of building a strong team, which began with the appointment of Otto Addo (head coach) ahead of the 2022 World Cup”. .
Hughton has been the team’s technical advisor for the past 12 months. Assistant coaches George Boateng and Mas-Oud Didi Dramani retained their positions.
Addo took charge of the Ghana national team in February last year and left the post after the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.
Houghton spent most of his playing career at Tottenham Hotspur and was appointed head coach by Newcastle, Birmingham, Brighton, Norwich City and Nottingham Forest.
