16 clubs will compete for the main European Cup trophy
February 14 starts playoffs of the Champions League.
16 clubs that have been selected at the end of the group stage will start the fight for the main European Cup trophy in Europe from the 1/8 final stage. The playoff format is traditional – two meetings “home / away” without taking into account the “away goals” rule.
Two couples will open the round of 1/8 finals today: Milan — Tottenham And PSG – Bayern. Tomorrow, February 15, couples will play Borussia D — Chelsea And Bruges – Benfica.
Four more meetings will be held next week: Eintracht – Napoli, Liverpool – Real Madrid (both on February 21), as well as Leipzig – Manchester City, Inter – Porto (February 22).
The return matches of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League are scheduled for 7, 8, 14 and 15 March. The draw for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the 2022/23 Champions League will take place on 17 March.
The current holder of the European Cup is Real Madrid.
