Footballer’s body found in rubble
Former Chelsea, Everton, Newcastle and Ghana international Christian Atsu found dead after earthquake in Turkey. The player’s death was confirmed by his agent Murat Uzunmehmet.
“Christian Atsu has been found, unfortunately he died,” the agent said.
The body of the Hatayspor football player was found 11 days after the earthquake. Earlier it was reported that the player was rescued from the rubble of one of the destroyed houses. However, Hatayspor denied this information later.
On February 6, a powerful earthquake occurred in Turkey and Syria. The total number of victims exceeded 40 thousand people. The Turkish football championship has been suspended due to the earthquake. The first round of the Winter Cup-2023 was also postponed due to the earthquake.
