The Head Coach”chelsea » Graham Potter reported that the captain of the London club defender Cesar Azpilicueta is conscious in hospital, where he ended up after an injury received in the Premier League Round 24 home game with Southampton.
The match took place on Saturday and ended with Chelsea losing 0-1. Southampton player Sekou Mara tried to shoot himself in the 74th minute but hit Azpilicueta in the head with a kick. The Spaniard fell on the pitch, doctors gave him first aid and then carried him off the pitch on a stretcher. Azpilicueta wore an oxygen mask.
“It was a bad time for us. He is conscious in hospital and speaking. We are monitoring him and making sure he was in order, — quotes the words of Potter BBC.
Azpilicueta has made 26 appearances for Chelsea this season.
