CSA midfielder Tomas spoke to Athletistic to talk about the 2023 season, his arrival at the club and the clash against Fortaleza in the Copa do Nordeste
O CSA face the Strength on the night of this Friday, the 17th, starting at 9 pm (Brasília time), for the fourth round of the group stage of the Copa do Nordeste. In conversation with sportbuzzthe midfielder Tomas Bastos designed the important duel for the regional competition.
Tomas arrived at the club from Alagoas at the end of last year to reinforce the team in the 2023 season. CSA is fifth in Group B of the Copa do Nordeste, and is fighting for the classification zone for the next tournament final.
“It will be a difficult game. They (Fortaleza) have been doing good work for a long time, competing at high level competitions, but I also believe a lot in what is being done here at CSA and I believe we can surprise and get a good result. We are very focused”said Tomas, who still designed the season:
“Every competition, whatever it may be, has its value. We are going to try to fight a lot in all competitions, but I believe that the fight for access to Série B (of the Brasilierão) is the most anticipated for this season”completed.
Tomas was responsible for CSA’s goal in the 1-1 draw against rail, last Tuesday, the 14th, for the third round of the Copa do Nordeste. He highlighted the importance of the goal for the team’s sequence in the year.
“Scoring a goal is always very important and, thank God, I’ve managed to score a few goals. This one against Ferroviário was one of them. It was a very important goal for our streak. Having the opportunity today, I hope to score one more, but if I can choose, I’ll trade the goal for victory. That’s the most important”, he said.
