The club is not yet ready to increase the salary of the player
Chelsea suspended negotiations about the extension of the contract with the midfielder of the team Mason Mount.
According to The Athletic, Mount turned down the club’s offer. The player wants Chelsea to increase his salary under the new agreement, but the club has not yet agreed to the terms of the midfielder. Negotiations are expected to resume soon.
Earlier it was reported that Chelsea intend to negotiate with Mason this year to avoid problems.
Mount is a graduate of the Chelsea Academy. The 23-year-old’s current contract with Chelsea ends in 2024. This season, the midfielder has played in 31 matches in all tournaments for the Londoners, scoring 3 goals and making 6 assists.
The Graham Potter team remains in 10th position in the Premier League standings. Chelsea will play Tottenham Hotspur on 26 February next.
