Trabzonspor donated proceeds from ticket sales for the Europa League play-off to earthquake victims in Turkey.
The team’s press office said the club received $328,455 in last week’s home game against Swiss club Basel. All funds are redirected to the Center for the Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters and Emergencies (AFAD).
The match itself ended in victory for Trabzonspor with the score 1:0.
A magnitude 7.4 earthquake occurred on February 6 in southeastern Turkey. The epicenter was the province of Kahramanmarash, aftershocks were then felt in different parts of the country. According to the latest data, 41,156 people died and 105,505 were injured.
