Blancos begin title defense
Real Madrid manager Carlo Anchelotti commented on the upcoming match with Liverpool in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. The coach of the Madrid club emphasized that good memories of last year’s Champions League reign in the team.
“Last season finale in Paris brings back good memories. It was an equal game. Liverpool had more possession but we were good defensively. Now it’s different because we have two matches. We have taken this into account. We have to be good for 180 minutes.”
“The team is in good shape, determined and looking to do well, as they did last year, knowing that this is a difficult opponent and that the second leg is ahead. We are happy to take part in this competition again.”
“We are expecting a game of great intensity and pressure, with no time to rest. We know this well and are ready for it. We have a better chance of winning the Champions League than last year.”
Real Madrid and Liverpool will play the first match of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League today, February 21. The return match is scheduled for March 15.
